I think that was there same place on the list as last year. It surprises me a bit because we never see other boxers.

I really don't understand why beagles are so popular. They are great hunting dogs but I haven't found them to be very good family dogs and man, can they bark!

yeah 6 last year as well. Up from 12th in 19998.

I don't see very many boxers around here (Canada) as well.

Lots of boxers where we live. They will stay at the 6th position for a long while, while to tell you the truth, I am sick of seeing Labrador Retrievers everywhere. They are like robots taking over the Earth. Beagles are not good family dogs, and many of them end up being given for adoption but people buy them because of their medium-size, big ears, and of course - Snoopy.

labs are the top dog because they have a friendly disposition, are very trainable, and are great with kids.

Boxers are not good with kids, can be excitable resulting in aggression, and are not a good pet for the majority of people due to them needing so much attention and exercise.

Yes, most boxers love kids. Although, because of their strength and love of jumping, they may inadvertently knock over a child or play a little too rough with them. Somebody should always supervise them, especially when they get excited. We all know what happens when they get excited.

Keepers best human friend, other than myself, is our 2.5 year old neighbor. The other boxers I've met seem to know what people they can get excited with and who they can't.

I feel bad for labs. They are a working dog and so many of them are bought as a family pet and never get training or leave their yard. Labs are big dogs and do require a lot of exercise and training. Labs are the #1 dog on petfinder. Part of this is just their popularity but part is people thinking they are easy dogs to own. Same with goldens.
