Default What type of collar

When type of collar do you use? Both for every day use and for training?

Keepers wears a chain martengail. His head is just as think as his neck so a buckle collar will slip right off. I had first thought we would only use the chain martengail for training but it seems to be working well as his every day collar also. I've been meaning to order a martengail with a nylon loop but haven't found one that seems durable enough. Do other boxers have a problem keeping buckle collars from slipping over their head?

When Tie was younger he could easily slip out of the buckle collar, but now he doesn't really try any more....usually.

He has sensitive skin, and i found the the metal would iterate his neck alot, that's why I switched.

Luther, nearly 10, wears a flat collar, while Lars, 22 months wears a choker.

I use a limited slip nylon collar . Similar to a martingale but an adjustable nylon collar with snap buckle .

I have / do sometimes use a regular chain slip collar .

The only place I have found a 100% nylon adjustable limited slip collar is here,

Thanks for the link! Have you found them to be durable enough for training? Keepers gets a little nutty at agility and I don't want to loose control or wear out the collar.

I buy the 1 inch width collars , the nylon ones not the ones with ribbon overlayed . I had the same collar for my Titan for 7 years and it was still in good condition when he passed , only a bit of fraying around the edges of the slip part from rubbing . I had the same collar for Charlotte for 5 years and the same collar for edy about 2 1/2 years now .
Edy is a wild child and so far her collar is in great condition .

I ordered him a collar from that website in "hunter orange". I love the way orange looks on his brindle. I'm so excited to get it, we still might use the chain loop for training because the sound of the chain seems to work as a correction for him... who knows.
