Default Florida Couple New Owners Of Cloned Pet Labrador

To remove this ad please Register
A couple from BOCA RATON, Florida have just picked up their new cloned puppy from the Miami airport.

The puppy, an exact replica of the couple's late dog, was cloned with DNA taken from the original dog, who died from cancer in January of 2008.

Nina and Edgar Otto decided to have DNA taken from their Labrador Lancelot, hoping that one day cloning would become a reality.

Well, now Lancelot Encore is a reality, 10 weeks old and an exact look alike to the couple's previous dog.

The couple received their puppy from a company in Korea, and paid more than $155000 for him.

I joke that I will clone Keepers. He is my perfect dog. But I didn't have him for the first 2 years of his life, so I'm sure the clone would be a very different animal. There are way too many animals (esp. labs) in shelters who are perfect dogs who need homes.

Maybe so, but only more labs that are naturally born (or boxers, dalmations, mixed breeds, any favorite breeds, etc.) I just can't stand the thought that one day a human can be cloned (if it hasn't already happened).
