My boxer is 10 months old and he is very thin towards the back. Is there any reason for this or is it normal.

This depends on what area you are talking about .And there could be a few reasons .

Boxers are supposed to have a tuck up . this is the waist area behind the ribs before the thigh area . If this is what you mean then it is normal .

Also at 10 months he is still a puppy and has a lot of maturing and growing to do .Boxer puppies can be very un balanced as they grow . If I had a dollar for each time a person said my puppy looked too skinny I would be rich .

Some boxer lines are weaker in the rear and do not fill out as much as others . So that would depend somewhat on what the parents looked like .

If you could post some side shot pictures we could get a better look and idea what you are talking about .

My boxer is also thin in the back but she eats good and was 5lbs at 10 weeks...so she was small at the beginning but to pick her up u almost need a crane..she is very thick in the front..Maybe give ur boxer some time to thicken up..

he's a little thin on the hips. My Poppy is pretty thin too. Sometimes it's hard to keep their weight up when they are so young and active.

What are you feeding? how much? Have you had him to the Vet? did you bring a stool sample. Are his stools formed?

Some are quite slender in the back but looking at your guy I notice his bones are slightly visable, you may need to increase his food a bit. Our girl would go through periods of developng nicely then all of a sudden she would look a little too skinny and I knew it was time to increase her food intake.
Oh and Welcome aboard!

He looks like a nice dog to me except the bones in the hip area make me think he might need to put on some weight. Don't know how much he's eating, but maybe you could bump it up and see if he can pick up a few pounds.
