Default Georgie's Vet Appointment

Well I finally found a Vet. I have not found one I trust since I got Georgie. This Vet I found is young! She looks like she is barely out of pampers! She seemed great and I have a good feeling about her. Georgie is now almost 47lbs and doing good. I asked her about raw feeding and she said if she was not so busy and did not have so many animals she would feed raw!! I don't have to worry about every time there is a problem the vet blaming it on raw feeding. The office was spotless and there was no smell what so ever so that impressed me also. They sold high quality dog food there instead of the junk usually seen at the vets office.

I have not had Georgie spayed yet. I need to get it done before she comes into heat. I have been soooo nervous about getting it done. My husband is going in for a hip replacement on Sept. 8 and I am more worried about getting Georgie fixed! (I guess that is why my kids now call me the dog psycho) The new vet never uses Ace especially on a Boxer and she assured me Georgie will be fine. She said she likes to do blood work before the surgery. I have to wait a couple of weeks to get it done because our other dog Bobby came down with kennel cough and we want to make sure Georgie does not get it.

wonderful news!!! sounds like you did find a great one!! Mine is okay, but I went through several to get this one, she listens (or pretends to) to me and sometimes we don't agree but she knows that even when I don't follow her textbook recommendations that I'm doing it in the best interest of Daisy.
I still wish I could find one more like yours though!!

I have vet envy now! While ours never uses Ace on Boxers, they sell Hills Science and do not feel feeding a Raw diet is good for the dog they are not totally against it but their recommendation to me was at least one kibble meal per day BUT so far they have been fantastic with her spay and an emergency trip and they will do emergency visits so I don't have to take her to a different clinic that doesn't know her history. Lucky Georgie!

So happy for you!!!

We've found vets we are happy with, but I'm not totally in love with them. It is a large practice and I've found one vet there for Boo (happy go lucky girl with an open mind) and a different older man for Keepers (he's seen everything and isn't phased by his bad attitude at the vets).

Our first vet for Boo was a nightmare. She told me Keepers should be put to sleep and put Boo through so many tests that she didn't need. I didn't know better at the time but after they told me Boo would probably die on raw we switched and haven't looked back. My new rule is I will not go to a vet that sells dog food.
