Default A poopy night for Rex

Last night was not a good night for Rex as far as pooping in the house goes. He did it again and it was watery!!! I was wondering if it was the fact that I had to change to ground beef as he was getting turkey all this time. Also maybe that the other day I started the chicken livers, but ever so little. He also peed inside too.

I can't wait for the Honest Kitchen mix to get here. I see the info just got received by UPS. I don't know yet when it will arrive here.

It could be the change to beef. You can try adding it slowly by mixing a little with the turkey (which he is already used to) and slowly increasing the amount of beef and reducing the amount of turkey each day. Some have no problems doing a straight intro of new protein (we were able to just give the new type of meat and had no issues), while others do need a slow intro

I had run out of turkey... I thought I had more packs in the freezer, but I didn't. So it had to go straight to the beef. I wasn't even ready to buy the beef yet, but they didn't have any turkey when I was at the store.

I just hope it is a better night for Rex tonight!!

What percent fat is the beef? Is he getting vegetables? I had used up one batch of Buddy's food and started another where, instead of shredded fresh carrots, I had shredded frozen mixed veggies. I noticed his stools got looser on them. Maybe there was something in the mix that didn't agree with him. Just wondering if there's other things that changed. I'm not sure if you're adding bone meal, but that would probably help firm them up. A couple of teaspoons a day.

It was 97% fat free. I have given him a few raw whole baby carrots the past few days. Everything else has been the same except for the adding of very small portion of chicken livers. I put them in the food processor and just put a little in the mix to start. I am adding Bone meal at every meal... I think it is 1/2 tsp at every meal. so only 1 1/2 tsp. total a day.

Poor man! It could have been the beef. We still have flare ups with Keepers and have no idea why, I think sometimes it's a stress trigger I don't even pick up on.

I hope THK helps him out!
