Georgie got really sick after she ate her supper last night. She vomited all her food and kept vomiting all evening. She acted really sick. was still not feeling well this morning. She vomited twice today but seems much better tonight and was hungry. I withheld her breakfast and gave her a little boiled chicken with white rice tonight which she has kept down so far. She had cubed pork for 3 meals in a row. She has eaten pork ribs lots of times with no problems but I am wondering if having the pork for 3 meals was too much for her? How long should I keep her on the rice and chicken?

I would do at least 24hrs to allow her gut to settle. It may have been too much, may have been a "little off", she may just have an upset tummy (Ruby skipped her breakfast yesterday and ate a little grass, still have no idea why) - if only they could talk human it would get rid of all the guessing we do with them. I hope she is feeling better very soon - poor Georgie Girl.

Poor girl! Keepers is such a drama king when he's sick, you'd think he was going to die.

I would keep her on the rice/chicken at least 24 hours. Make sure she is back to having solid BMs. Keepers has eaten pork for almost a month now, since it was on sale and it is all we had in the freezer with no problems, but each dog is different. Maybe pork will be a once in a while food for her?

The only way to tell if it is the pork is to try again . later once her stomach has settled down . I owuld keep her in the Chix & rice for 24 hrs then go back to whatever she ate before the pork for a week or two . Then try the pork again if she has the same reaction then it may be she can not handle the pork for too many days and it will just have to be fed here and there . '

Edy is like this with turkey , I can give turkey OR turkey necks but not both together for a few meals in a row or she gets loose poop and pukes .

Georgie kept her dinner down and she is full of piss and vinegar (we need an icon for that)I am laying in my bed ( I'm on the west coast...it's just 6:30) and I hear her in the living room getting into trouble!!! I am going to give her the rice and chicken this morning and I will put her back on her normal diet.

So glad to hear she is doing better!
Maybe it's cause I'm not from the US, but what the heck is "piss and vinegar"

It means rowdy, full of energy, boisterous. The first use of the term was from the book "Grapes of Wrath". My parents always used that term.

Jake was sick on Saturday. I guess dogs get little stomach bugs just like we do, but he's also guilty of eating all kinds of JUNK when he's out in the yard. He recovered quickly though.
