quite a poopy problem

We are having trouble with Peaches pooping in her Kennel. At first we thought it was seperation anxiety or perhaps she was getting into something when we weren't looking and it made her sick.
Now she poops in her kennel way too often. We have taken the blankets our of it as it seemed to happen more when she had them in it. The runs, solid poop... doesn't matter.
Example... My wife was up last night and let her out at 4 AM, and again at 6 AM. When we woke up at 730 she had pooped in her kennel.
a few days ago we went shopping around 130 PM and left her in her kennel and 5 hours later she had pooped even though we hadn't fed her since 9 AM and she had pooped twice before we left.
We feed her orijen adult dog food and she is about 6 1/2 months.
Any suggestions of what we can do?? or maybe what is wrong.

Is the kennel too big for her? She obviously isn't in there too long if she was let out an hour before and pooped in there anyways. You could go out and walk her until she poops before she goes in her crate. How about leaving her in the laundry room or bathroom with a potty pad (if she won't eat it) or some newspapers so she can still potty while you are gone. You could also try removing all bedding from the crate, that helped Keepers. Was she a puppy mill/pet store dog? Some dogs learn young that peeing and pooping in a crate is ok because that was the only option they had.

We never had a problem with Buddy pooping in his crate, but he did have a relapse a couple months ago and started peeing in it. We put a box in it so it was only big enough for him to lay in. He immediately stopped. After about two weeks we took it out and he never started up again. That was the same way we got him to stop peeing in it when he was a puppy. I would suggest you somehow make his space smaller and see if that helps. Most dogs will not poop in their sleeping/resting area.

Her crate has a baby gate in it already to make it tiny
She never used to poop or pee in it it just started about 6 weeks ago and is progressively getting worse.
All bedding is gone now and she still poops.
She wasn't a puppy mill dog and had never seen a crate until we got her at 9 weeks.

I can't imagine there are too too many things you can do since you aren't there to catch her in the act. Did her food/routine/any thing else change when the pooping started?

I would have the vet run a stool sample , there are many bacterias that can cause this .
A few common ones are Giardia , coccidia , lepto .

The only thing that has changed in the last little bit is about 2 months ago she cracked her hip on a growth plate while enjoying quality time with my 2 yr old. She was in her kennel for only a week and then has been on light duty....
The only thing that has really changed is we haven't gone to the dog park to let her unwind fully. hmmm maybe that's it....?

She has an appointment to see the vet in a week so we are going to ask the vet about it as well. I tend to think it is more behavioural though.
Last night at 8 pm she had a big drink of water and then we put her water away. I let her out to pee at 830,, and then again at about 9 and then I went to bed at 1020 and let her out one more time. at 1115pm my wife got home and she had peed in her kennel!
Regarding yesterday morning. After my wife got everything all cleaned up and what not she put peaches back in her kennel for 15 minutes while she fed my skin kids. and she pooped again.

I'll think about that more and ask our dog trainer, but I bet the two are related.

I'm sorry, i haven't had that happen with any of our dogs so i can't offer advice...but i'll sure be praying it all gets figured out soon. Nikita and Memo did have Giardia though, the poo was liquidy, but they weren't doing it in the crate. Oh..i do recall now that Memo did have explosive poo in his crate 2x couple mths back..it was the fish oil! What kind of supplements/treats (if any) are you giving peaches?
