thank you all for your replies. she was mooching outside with me early and she went to chase her mate ruby , she couldnt do it , she got into pounce position, screamed and lay down. will keep you all posted. my gut feeling is she will never make old age. when the orthpod saw her in april time he thought that 6 wks of antibiotics should do trick , he said that if the dog could talk she would have been complaining of tingling sensations down her legs before it got to the crisis point . i never thought that after 10 wks it would have flared up again, its definately same thing, so whether the infection is deep rooted and is just gonna keep rearing its head , but if like last time it gets into her spinal cord shes gonna be in soo much pain. he also said she would definately have arthritis. mind the amount of tablets she was on it was so tricky getting them into her , she sussed the cheese and spat tablet out , same with sausages, used meat paste over tablet and that worked for about 2 days , then she got wise to that and licked off the psate and spat tablet out . it was put in ham , beef, fish, and she got wise to my ways ....lol crafty thing. have leg of lamb in oven now and will cut some of it into cubes and try n shove pill in the middle of it. there not just your pets thou are they , they are part of the family. thank you all soooo much for your supportive messages, this has been ongoing from my very first post here only now we know what we are dealing with. sadly in my heart of hearts i know the outcome, i have to do what is kinder for her in the long run. love to u all

Just a thought, but did you try crushing the pill up and then putting it into cheese or whatever you've been using. That is if it is ok to crush that pill. I know time released pills should not be crushed.

How heartbreaking--if only they could tell us what is wrong so we could fix it. Maybe they just need to put her on a real MEGA dose of antibiotics so that infection can get blasted out once and for all. I'll keep you both in my thoughts!

My lovely Rosie is doing well ....... we restrict her running about , as much as we can ! shes eating well and hasnt need pain killers for a while so hopefully this will continue ! am hoping after 20 months of problems that things settle now. we know her problems, we know how she acts when she starts to be in pain and we have painkillers at the ready should we need them. so fingers crossed !
thank you to everyone who took time to reply on this thread.
