Ohhhhh man. Yesterday I got home from work, opened the door and the whole place smelled like a bathroom. Go into the dogs room and the smell is 100x worse. Keepers has pooped in his crate two or three times before, not a big deal. Well, not only had he pooped, but it was smeared all over the bottom of his den. Then I notice in the back of the den is a giant (and I mean HUGE) pile of vomit. And since he had managed to get the bottom of his den out from under him the vomit was on the carpet and wall. And of course he was covered in all this mess. It took me almost an hour to clean up. The poor guy, I can't even think about how long he was sitting in all that mess. When I took him out he had the worst BM I've ever seen. He just couldn't stop straining. He had eaten kibble three meals in a row, so we won't be trying that again. I might just go all raw with him, right now he's only on 50%. He had a soft stool this morning but much much better than yesterday and we took a long walk with no problems this morning. Poor boy.

Ohhhh man is right!!!! Poor baby and poor you having to clean that up. Maybe give him some bananas too. I know if I Rex doesn't get banana every day, his stool will not be firm.

We didn't feed him dinner last night, he had a normal (raw) breakfast this morning. Other than his soft BM this morning he has been fine and hasn't had another BM yet.

I half thought about pretending I had never come home and running some errands and letting David be the one to find the mess. But I just couldn't leave Keepers in there another minute. David did get home in time to give him a bath with me, talk about a bad day for Keeps. Poor man.

I think I'm starting to understand more and more what it's like with skin kids. There I was, elbow deep in poop and vomit, thinking I will never get it out of the carpet and will throw up myself and all I could think about was how bad Keeps must be feeling. I wasn't thrilled to clean up all that mess, but really, that wasn't what mattered. It really is a weird feeling to care for an animal so deeply, I would do anything for that dog. He's just the best animal on the planet, period.

LOL Andrea you just wait till you have a few (skin kids) some days I felt like all I did was clean up poop, vomit and chewed up food, oh and snot lol. I remember one day I had just scrubbed the carpet and walls (my darling son had a habit of ripping his diapers off and redecorating the house with it's contents) and then the dog vomited on the floor and one of the girls had stepped in dog poop and walked it through the house! I just lost it lol and started ranting at DH that everywhere I turned there was sh!@ etc etc poor guy knew I'd had it and cleaned it up.
