just wondering what everyone has paid to get the boy/girl fixed.

Our vet quoted us for $315 to $400

The last one I had fixed was 4 years ago . It was about $ 150.
But I have to add that my vet is very low on all their prices .

we didn't know what the normal cost was at the time, and I think looking back we got ripped off. we paid around $500. original quote was over $700 but we questioned it and the dr. removed some things like a hip x-ray and something else that wasn't necessary for the procedure. we went to this vet that is sort of upscale in our area, and we were paying a lot for her allergy issues early on and decided to switch... glad we did - we're at a much more reasonable vet and they seem to really care for us.

We got it done cheap at a nearby dog rescue home [The Mayhew] that has a community vet clinic attached just for spaying/neutering, vaccinations and worming tabs. It has half the price of what our local vet wanted to charge us! I really commend the clinic - we have such a problem over here with unwanted staffordshire terriers and the clinic will actually do them and any crosses for free.

I think we paid $375 for Ruby's spay but neuters are cheaper, our vet offers 15% off on Thursdays, this encourages people to book in for a Thursday and (enables them to roster extra staff on) for that one day and do mainly desexing (and emergency visits). We took advantage of it.
