eww

I thought it was another skin tag, but after closer examination we saw it was actually a very large tick.

Tie had Anaplasmosis last year, so i think we'll have to get his blood tested again. poor guy

Poor Tie! Eeew indeed! Have a family gathering to go to this weekend, and one of the reasons Wally is staying home is because the area has ticks. (Also, it gives hubby the excuse he needs not to go!)
Hope his test goes well, and watch out so baby Newman doesn't get any!

anapla what??? and I think that ticks are quite rare here... I imagine wooded areas would have a higher potential. I know that we don't get fleas!

Can you tell us more about this anaplasmosis? How did affect Tie? What treatment did he have to have? We get ticks over here in the UK, a few of them carry a blood disease called Lymes Disease - here's a link on it, http://www.squidoo.com/lymediseaseindogs

Lyme disease is very common here in US too. I had one of mine tested not too long ago, maybe it was Coco when she was having her leg limping problem... it was negative. My Daughter in law and my daughter both had been put on antibiotics after the ticks were tested that they took off of themselves, tested positive for Lymes.

Every time my grandson has his baseball game, someone comes home with a tick on them! Speaking of which, I will be going to a game tonight if there is no rain, but it has been storming every afternoon with this humidity.
