Default Someone is peeing.....

Two times this week we found pee on the kitchen floor. Don't know who or why. I am leaning towards Coco since she only pees little amounts at a time, but Rex will pee for like 5 minutes straight, LOL.

Until I know which dog it really is, I can't do anything about it like get the urine tested.

Also, Rex barks if we are not near the bells for him to ring. Coco, just looks at us and that is her sign, or she will whine a little while looking at us. When this happened, I was in the shower the first time and the second time was through the night last night. Coco did get up and leave our bed, but she does that sometimes and comes back to bed. So maybe she did it when she got up and we didn't see her "looking" at us when we were sleeping. We are puzzled at the moment.

Any opinions from anyone would be helpful. Thanks

Sounds like it probably was Cocoa if Rex barks for the door to be opened. I don't suppose there is anyway you could secure one of them in the bedroom tonight to see if it happens again? using the crate maybe?

It would be hard to keep Rex out, LOL... and then he'll want out of the bedroom once in.... having 2 dogs doesn't make life easy or sleep likely, LOL.

D-mannose is wonderful for uti's. The link tells you all about it. I have seen it effectively treat complicated uti's (blood & wbc's in the urine, fever over 101, flank pain) in humans even.

It does not kill bacteria, so you don't have the problems associated with antibiotic use. Instead, it prevents bacteria from sticking to the bladder so they are flushed out. Cool, eh? It can also be used proactively to prevent infections. I know someone who's dog has kidney issues and uses it regularly to prevent uti's and people who raise horses also.

For humans with a uti, I have used 450mg 1-3x/day. This company sells a product for dogs but I would use NOW brand. Much cheaper, but a reputable company. You can get it either in caps or powder.

If Coco doesn't have a uti, it won't hurt anything to have tired it. But, just out of curiosity, have you ruled out your dh as the culprit?

LOL LOL.... no I hadn't ruled him out, LOL.... and he did clean up this mornings pee spot, so maybe it was him... and when I was in the shower, he was in the house...hmmmmmmm..

I am definitely going to look into getting some D-Mannose, I hope I can get it at my health store.

Thanks Sally!

OK, Sally, I picked up the bottle of NOW D-Mannose Powder, but have no clue how much to give Coco! Since this is in human dosage. 1 tsp is 2.0 g (2,000mg)

from what I figured, it could only be like a dusting on both meals a day?
