Tooth brushing?

Ruby eats bones but she still has plaque from before we got her. Jakey can't eat raw/bones anymore so I have to clean his teeth - 2/3 times a week - I use a doggy toothbrush [it's very similar to a human one - shaped a little differently maybe] - he doesn't like it much but he tolerates it. I do Ruby's teeth once/twice a week as well using a toothbrush. Now there is no way on earth I would even try to put a toothbrush in Roddy's mouth at the moment, I know he would end up attacking it, so I put toothpaste on my finger and kind of brush my finger all around his teeth [oh the things we do for our dogs]. I hope to progress to using a sort of finger cover that acts like a toothbrush, picture here - finger Pets Toothbrush products, buy finger Pets Toothbrush products from alibaba.com at the moment he seems quite accepting of my fingers even if I do have to chase him around the bathroom to get both sides of his mouth done!
