Please Help. I don't know what to do or think about what is going on with my
9 year old female boxer her name is Cinnamin. She was experiencing incontinence and was put on stillbestrol to control her bladder. Once I put her on this I noticed that she was drinking alot of water and not eating properly. She also seemed depressed. Then about two weeks ago she was playing ruff with a mastif puppy. She has always been very active. I stopped the playing thinking that she might hurt herself. She started foaming from her mouth and vomited some yellow bile. From that day on she has deter-rating. I decided to stop the stillbestrol and took her to the vet. They suggested that she gets an injection of 1.1ml metacam, and to keep an eye on her.
That was on Saturday. Nothing has changed other than she walks very slowly, very stiff and she seems like she is going to topple over. Whenever I put my hand towards her head she flinches away. I also took her to her chiropractor last friday and he adjusted her head but she yelped out...I don't know if that did anything to her? I'm out of idea's on what is going on with her. Could anyone help me? Should I ask the vet for a ARVC test, is it her thyroid? I'm so scared? She is 9 and she has never experienced anything like this before she has always been such a good girl. I want is for her to get back to normal.
Please help. Thank you,
Maria and cinnamin

Sorry, I have no clue. I have an emergency hospital here in Central NJ that I would take my dogs to if they had this problem. I know how scary this must be for you. Hopefully someone on here might have an idea, but I have none. I would definitely get back to the vet and have bloodwork and/or xrays.

hmm, i have no idea. our old boxer started losing control like that when she was almost 12 and we ended up having to put her to sleep, it was very sad but she was miserable, while i hope that your problems are not because of age, she is nine years old and like humans some just live longer then others. i would definitely go back to the vet though.
