Poor old Tie, his nose is really dry and cracked (it has been since I met him) and we think it split open a bit. He was discovered with some blood on his paws, and it looks like it was coming from his nose......he also sneezed, so there was blood-snot spray everywhere

Any ideas for helping with Old-Man-Dry-Nose syndrome?

Awww, poor Tie. If it's his exterior that's dry, some lotion like aloe will help heal and moisturize.

If it's internally the bleeding is coming from, there could be other things in play like blood pressure, but most likely it's just dry membranes. Humidifier in the house comes to mind to help that. This time of year, that can be a problem.

Get some vit E capsules . Pop one open and spread/rub it on his nose each day . And since it is a vitamin it will not matter if he licks some of it

Thanks for the tips, I'm sure tie will appreciate having a soft, youthful nose!

My old Rufus used to get very dry like that too and I used Vit. E oil. They also sell it in a bottle at the big drug stores so you don't have to break open capsules.

I used to put it on my surgical scars to when healing.

How's it going, Annie? Does Tie mind the treatment?
