Default Worms?

Well now I haven't used a conventional vet wormer for a long time and yesterday Ruby had a "dangler" hanging from her backside so I went to pull it out for her [as only a loving owner would do!] and it looked like the body of an earthworm....hard to describe but it was as if all the inside of the worm had gone [digested?] and just the skin of it that had retained its shape had passed through. Ofcourse I cannot be a 100% sure that that it was just an earthworm, but it looked like one. I have been inspecting her poo really carefully since then and I can't see any evidence of worms at all. But, I am wondering what to do..... Would it be worth have a fecal exam done do you think? or should I just not worry about it being as there is no evidence of anything else? Can dogs pick up anything from eating earthworms? I have to say I have never seen her eat earthworms before............I'm thinking I will probably take a sample in just to be sure, but if I do that, should I wait a few more days incase she has picked up something from the worm and it needs time to hatch?

Sorry this is all abit muddley............LOL............just not sure what to do for the best with this one. I don't really want to use any wormer if it's not necessary.

Well if that's the totality of her symptoms, I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like she got the best of the worm to me, lol!

But it did remind me of this previous discussion on worms that discusses some thoughts on what to do if you think your pet might have them.
