Default how Does Your Boxer Handle The Heat?

Tie could do without it really. He LOVES laying in the warm sun for a bit, but on walks, he over heats pretty fast.

He shines in the fall and early spring when the temp is cool

how does your boxer handle the heat?

Keepers doesn't like it. Heat really slows him down, but I'm not sure anything could STOP him. We can normally only run for about 30 minutes before I can hear a change in his breathing and we head home.

Scout doesn't seem to slow down in the heat much but she crashes hard afterward. Of course, Boxers are notoriously poor at regulating heat so I try to keep her hydrated at the dog park and periodically try to get her to rest in some shade.

It is so hot here today. Georgie wants to be outside but I am making her stay in except to go to the potty. She does not have the sense to realize she is getting overheated. It really cools off here in the evening so I will probably take her to the dog park after dark to get her exercise. I have put her in the pool and get her to swim to get exercise but I have to wait till the sun is off the pool in the late afternoon.

This might seem like a dumb question but do you treat dogs differently then humans when they over heat ? We haven't had any really hot weather yet this year just a day here & there . We put her in the shade when it gets hot or bring her inside .

Daisy does okay. Duey couldn't handle it at all and Poppy seems to be the same.

No worries. I have so many pages saved to my favourites it's hard to sort through them to find what I'm looking for lol.
