They do blood tests Doreen, but just not as extensive nor as comprehensive as the ones offered by Dr Dodds. Not only that, I just don't trust the vets in this country, I have had too many bad experiances with them. I don't trust them to carry out the tests properly and I wonder whether they will squew the results as well. I know that sounds bad, but such is my lack of faith in them.... I trust Dr Dodds, even though I have never met her and am highly unlikely too. I trust that she will carry out the tests properly and give me an honest opinion on the results - she has no reason to lie, there is nothing for her to gain. Her reputation speaks for itself too, she has done some really great work based on her own extensive studies in trying to educate people against the need for vaccinating their dogs all the time, the risks of vaccinosis, importance of a proper diet etc.
Anyway, we managed to get blood out of Roddy - poor boy, was muzzled and 3 of us had to hold him to keep him still. The vet was excellent, he stayed really calm despite Roddy growling right in his face - he took the blood straight from the jugular vein in the neck - so no shaved bald patches on their legs either.
Ruby and Jakey ofcourse were just little darlings, so good, just sat there and let the vet take the blood, no problem. I just hate the wait now for the results and I am a little scared too incase anything 'bad' shows up for any of them.
