Default Arthritis???

Our boxer Rebel, will be 2 in nov. He has a problem that the vet could not figure out. He said it could possibly be autoimmune poly arthritis, doe's anyone know anything about this disease? He has to take a styroid pill weekly, or he runs a fever, eyes droop, and he can hardly stand up. If anyone knows of this please let me know.
