Default How much does your dog sleep?

Buddy's 5 months old and gets these days where all he does is sleep. I almost think something's wrong, and then he gets up and plays and eats. So it got me wondering how old your dogs are and how much they sleep?

My dogs sleep when I'm not doing anything, they'll follow me from room to room napping. But if I say "lets go" they are up and running! Has this behavior changed at all? If there is a change you should see the vet but otherwise be glad you have a mild mannered boxer!!

My two are 1.5 and 3 and lay around when bored (I've got a Boston in my lap right now!). Keepers gets pretty zonked after agility too. That's really the only time he's too sleepy to want to play.

tie naps after his breakfast (7:00) then has an afternoon nap.

around 8 at night he's pretty much done for the day

If Magnum the doberman is over, the naps are a little less frequent since he's so active.

Georgie is 4 months old and does sleep most of the time. She has been up since 6 a.m. It is now 9 a.m. and she is knocked out. We went on a nice long walk this morning so she will probably sleep most of the day except when she needs to go outside. She will wake up and play a little. That tends to be her pattern although I have only had her but 6 days.

GiGi will be 8 months next week and she lays around when she's bores but she is always ready to get up and go. She loves fetch with her football but has to take a break after about 15 min. Haha but the break only lasts a min.

Luther my 10-year-old lab sleeps like 12 hours a day if I had to guess.

Lars my 2-year-old lab sleeps like 5 or so, and the majority of those would be after play sessions, he is a very poor night time sleeper

Tinny is about 4 and he sleeps alot, unless hes following us all from room to room or if someone goes out the front or back door, he'll get up and follow then. the one word that will always get him up is walkies! if you say it he will come running from where ever he is too you... Sugar on the other hand plays alot then sleeps for like 20mins and starts playing again, she does it all day!!

Puppies sleep a lot because when they are awake they expend so much energy! My dog is about 3 years old and she sleeps all through the night with me as well as naps during the day.
