Default Shedding

I have 2 five year old boxers that are fixed never bred. About 6-7 months ago my female started shedding uncontrollably. If she walks by you are covered with hair. If you pet her you get a handful of hair. You can brush her for hours and piles of hair keep accumulating. We have tried different diets and food supplments and nothing has worked. What can I do to control this? It never used to be a problem, my male is fine and nothing has really changed for her in the last five years.

From what I read there are lots of medical reasons for excessive shedding. Have you been to the vet for this problem? Stress can cause excessive shedding. Has any thing changed in your family?

a vet will be able to help you rule out some causes and hopefully find the problem
