Bad reaction to antibiotics

Poor Babe was so sick all day yesterday & I was so up set . They put her on antibiotics because she has a chip in her baby tooth that was infected so they put her on the antibiotics to be safe cause it should get pushed out right away by big tooth . She was vomitting and not eating all day but had her breakfast & a drink so hopefully she on the mend today .Vet says it happened soemtimes they are sensitive to certain things .

Remember that antibiotics kill off all bacteria - including the good flora Babe needs to have a healthy gut and immune system. I would put her on a probiotic to replenish the good bacteria and avoid problems. You can read an overview of their function here but I'm not necessarily recommending any particular product. Actually, Buddy gets the probiotics I buy for me. Coat it with a little peanut butter and he gulps them right down!

I give the dogs plain organic yogurt every other day with their food. If she still has an upset stomach you might feed her boiled chicken and white rice for a couple of days.

Thanks for the advise .With the yogurt how would you give a puppy everyday ? I'm actually heading to the grocery store so I could look for the organic kind . Atleast try that until I can the other form . She's eating much better today and even outside for a play after supper .It's really hot & humid here today so didn't play too long ,thats all I would need over heat her & make her sick again .

I give her a heaping tablespoon every other day in her food. She loves it. Glad your girl is doing better.
