Newman comes home next week! I expect lots and lots of pictures and a video of Tie meeting his baby bro would be cute .....hint, hint. What day does he come home? Have you done all the puppy proofing lol?

Most of my info is on here. Ruby, my boxer is 5 this year, Jakey, my border collie x labrador is going to be 9 [yikes!!!!]. [Ages are approx., they are both rescues, so can't ever know for sure].
Have to add Honey, our foster boxer, she is 7 years old and have no idea at all when she will be 8.

I'm Laurie, I'm new to this forum. I am the mother of Missy, a dark brindle female who will be 4 in August, Rocky, a fawn boxer who will be one in 9 days, and Sophie, a boxer/shepherd mix, who will be 2 in December. Also Grandma to Bruno, 6 1/2 weeks old, a male fawn, the son of Missy and Rocky. All, exept for Bruno are my dogs, though they don't know that, they think they are Mark's (dad's) dogs. Bruno is dad's dog.
Missy and Rocky weren't suppose to breed until her next heat, but since she's is Mark's total baby, he decided to take her out to the garage with him one day, she had maybe two days of her heat left, he had Rocky tied up, Mark couldn't accept that Missy was going to sneak out, be the total slut, and go to Rocky. Anyway, we now have Bruno, totally in love with him, even though he is a miniature dog, not a puppy, at least that's how he thinks.
Neither Mark or I had ever bred a dog before, it all went well, 2 pups were born, one had a cleft, we nursed him for a week, but he just wasn't strong enough. We took both pups to the vet when they were about 36 hours old, took Missy with us too, (glad we did) she had one more pup inside, did an emergency C-Section and a spay at the same time. We decided with the cleft in the one puppy, we didn't want to chance it again, and we weren't in it for the money. So Bruno is here to stay. What we are going to do with 4, hmm, not sure. But we love our Boxers, and they all manage to find a place to sleep, oftentimes curled up with each other.
I'm sorry, not sure I was suppose to get this long in this post.
Anyway, this all started with getting one puppy, Buster, 4 years ago, then Mark insisted he needed a buddy, so Missy came along a few months later. We lost Buster a year ago, to a urinary blockage, 2 weeks later, after surgery and tons of money, we lost him. It was really rough, Missy was devastated, so along came Sophie, who helped with the grief, and definitely helped Missy, then came Rocky, and now we have Bruno, aka Fat Boy.
I do have pics in my album now. The pics I tried to download of Buster were too big, so I'll work on that.
I'm excited to have found this forum. By the way, I also have chickens.
Nice to meet everyone.

Can't forget the chickens. Actually curious are they penned or do they run around and how do the dogs react?

The chickens have been penned up for most of the winter. I do let them range a couple of hours a day during the rest of the year. Missy and Sophie do well with them if we are right outside with them. We did train them with the chickens with shock collars, though Sophie is afraid of the shock collar so she was trained the good ole way. Rocky has been around the chickens from day #1, and he is not to be trusted with them, unless he has a shock collar on and we are right there. He just wants them, not sure if he just wants to play with them, or if he wants to eat them, lol. Hopefully I can train little Bruno early, introduce him and let him interact, maybe that can can coincide with leash training. Our Buster, he was great with the chickens, he could be outside and he would run right through the middle of the flock and act as though he didn't even know they were there. I think he had better things to do than mess with the chickens. I really wish he were still here to have helped train the other dogs.

I'm Lori. We have Wally, 16 month old Boxer/English Bulldog cross. He is our first intro to Boxers (had lab mixes before) and SO different. We spend many moments wondering which side of the family THAT behavior comes from! (smacking with the front feet--easy, stubborn--also pretty easy--but where did that weird howly-bark thing come from?) We're having great fun with him--he's almost got us trained!
