Hello everybody! My name is Rhea and I have a 7 1/2 week old female puppy named Amber. She is a fawn w/ white feet and chest and a black mask. It has been a very long time since I've had a puppy. I forgot how exhausting it can be, lol. She is doing mediocre in her crate, but I know this can and will get better. I no longer work, so I'm with her pretty much all the time.
As a kid I grew up with herding dogs (collies, shetland sheepdogs, australian shepherds) but a year and a half ago I adopted a boxer from a local rescue. His name was Mikey. He came to me with an uncertain background of either abuse or from being hit by a car, at any rate he was in such bad shape when Animal Control found him they wanted to put him down on the spot. The rescue vetted him, and I adopted him. He was a young boy, but he developed cancer and had to be euthanized last month. I fell totally in love with Mikey and the boxer breed, and just couldn't stand how quiet my house became after Mikey passed. Now, I don't know what quiet is anymore, lol.
I've attempted to attach a couple of pics. One of little Amber, and one of my sweet boy who passed.

Welcome Rhea. You did such a great thing adopting Mikey & I'm so sorry for your loss, unfortunately I know the feeling too. But your new little pup will fill your home with joy again, this I too know.
She is a doll!!!! Good luck with your training. You are on the right track with crate training. She will get there if you stick with it!
I am beyond puppies. No more for me. I'll stick with adopting seniors when the time comes, LOL. I don't think I can go through puppy stage anymore.
My 2 are rescues and they were still a handful getting them at 1 1/2 years !!!!
Hope you keep us updated, especially with photos!

Welcome Rhea! Your baby looks like a sweetie-don't let those big eyes trick you into stopping the crate training--it's the best thing ever! Your Mikey was so lucky to have found you, and I'm sure he knew it. Yes, please keep the pictures coming--LOVE puppy photos!
