Raw feeding & Poop eating?

OK Georgie has been on her raw diet for 2 days and LOVES it. It is so fun watching her eat she is enjoying it so much. Every now and then I have caught Georgie poo eating . Mostly it has been Bobby's and not a big problem more of a puppy thing. I clean up after the dogs twice a day to prevent this. Well this morning when Georgie did her business she went right after it with gusto (she has never done that before)!! I got it away from her and told her to "leave it"and fed her some pineapple. The question is does this have any thing to do with her new raw diet? Maybe I am not feeding her enough? She had a quarter of a chicken. I did not weigh it (still have not found that darn diet scale) but I would guess it to be about a a pound. Maybe she likes it so much going in well you get the picture.

Usually it's the opposite??? since their body uses this raw food they usually don't eat poop??? With kibble there is undigested food and that is part of why they eat it????

I'd probably just be available with better treats so she learns not to eat it cause you have something better. If you watch closely it shouldn't be too difficult to train out of her. good luck

I agree with whitedaisy the food of raw fed dogs is digested better than that of kibble fed dogs so the raw fed poop shouldn't be as appealing as kibble poop. I would say it is more of a behavioural thing than diet related, which means supervission until you can break her of the habbit. I'd continue with the "leave it" but have some really special treats on hand like cooked chicken breast (thats Ruby's favourite anyway, she will do anything for it).
