Our supplier has a limited supply of rabbits this month. We are thinking about trying 10 or so pounds, ground. How rich is rabbit? Fatty?

How hard are rabbit bones? We could also just buy whole rabbits, but I'm wondering how hard the bones are. Keepers has a hard time with anything but pork ribs.

hmmmm I think rabbit would be easier then pork ribs. I feed rabbit whole and my pups do really well but I guess they do well on chix bones too. Rabbit is not rich or fatty - it's perfect, I think.

I agree if he is o.k. with pork bones then rabbit bones should be fine .
Just be sure to give only small amounts at first if he has never had any rabbit before .

We've made friends with our supplier now and let me tell you, good move on my part! She's letting us try some pork and rabbit this month for a very low price. We have four protein sources now, assuming pork and rabbit work. Keepers is still not convinced fresh fish is indeed food.

Oh I hope they both work - you must be close to the stage of pulling your hair out! It would be soo good if you could get those 4 protein sources . When I read the trouble you are having re food with him I just think how lucky I am that we have not had to deal with anything similar. As for the fish, lol the first time we gave Ruby a sardine she pawed at it and played with it for about 30 minutes before she finally realised she could eat it - silly pups
