We just got a big order from Simple Pet Food in Michigan. KeeperBoy told us about them and we picked up our order in Ann Arbor on Sunday, but she does ship too. She sells individual "pieces" of meat, but also has mixes that include the organ and bone or organ, bone & veggies. Buddy had his first meal of it today and licked it clean! The meat/organ/bone/veggie mixes can be had for about $2.00 -$3.00/lb. Without the veggies, a 80/10/10 mix is $1.50-$2.50/lb. The meat, btw, is usda/fda inspected - not the road kill, diseased, euthanized meat that's perfectly legal to serve in dog food. Not recommended for humans, but it is human grade.

We've also made the Doggie Oats from Dr. Pitcairn's book which Buddy loves and it is quite economical. It's not as easy as Simple Pet's premix, and it does contain oats as a protein source, but Buddy loves it and I think it's also a good option. The recipe I have posted makes enough for Buddy for about 3-4 days.

We also buy deals at the store (this week ground turkey is 11 lbs for $10 at Meijer) and mix it with Preference by The Honest Kitchen. Price wise, that's midway between the Doggie Oats and Simple Pet I think.

I think that you can feed raw for around the price of a quality kibble, but it's also easier to spend more if you get more exotic meats, don't add any grains or buy it premixed.

Pre made/pre packaged raw is very expensive in the states, we don't have as many options over here for pre packaged but what we do have is pricey and not really balanced enough for me. It is great for those who want to feed raw, don't mind paying more for it and don't really feel confident enough to "do it themselves", I find alot start on pre made and switch over to supermarket/butcher cuts when they gain a little confidence . If you get a big freezer and do bargain hunting with meat from supermarkets and butchers you can get it equal and sometimes a little cheaper than kibble, for us RAW is cheaper than a good quality kibble and we don't have the huge variety of brands you guys have so she is getting heaps more variety than she would ever have on kibble (she would always be on chicken kibble).
