Runny Poo
To remove this ad please Register
Tie's poo seems to be a bit runny on RAW. I thought it might be because he's been eating grass and crap outside, but i don't think he's been eating anything extra.
any ideas why?

It could be because he is not getting enough bone , that firms things up .
Or it could be too much fat content. If you are feeding chicken or turkey with the skin on it could be the reason . Chicken/turkey skin is fatty and cause loose poop if there is more % skin than the meat/ bone ratio.
All the books . menus & guidelines are just that guidelines . The same ratio may not and usually does not work for every dog .You might need to tweak it to fit Tie.

Are you feeding offal yet? It gives Georgie loose poos. I am not feeding her much offal for that reason. I am finding getting the right balance difficult.

Some grocery stores carry chicken backs ( take off the skin and cut up into pieces)or you could offer a wing without the skin . Also liver is a big cause for loose poop . You might want to cut out the liver for a while then start very slowly and in small amounts if you add it back in .

Fat & skin (which has fat) gives Buddy problems. Chicken backs help as does bone meal. 1 tsp mixed in with his food each meal helps a lot if he's got problems.

Ron, we've got probs with loose poop when we're feeding fish or chicken liver...but we're ok with calf liver.
