Absolutely Ron,

It shouldn't be very difficult for your new puppy to adjust. It all depneds on what the breeder(me) is feeding your dog. If your breeder is already feeding raw and you want to continue feeding raw it won't be a hard transition for the puppy. I noticed you posted a link to rawboxers.com that is a great resource on feeding raw to boxers.

The hardest part about feeding raw is finding your raw meaty bones at a resonable price. You will have to do some research and call some different poultry farmers in your area and see if you can get backs, necks or carcass. That should be the main ingredient in your feeding. I use fish and red meat as a variety but for the most part the chicken is what I feed. On occasion you find me feeding rabbit.
I have a hard time finding red organ meat at a good price. This is another imporatant part of feeding raw to boxers. the lack of red organ meat can cause a dog to be enimec. There is a no frills in my area and that is where I get my organ meat. Usually beef/pork kidney or liver. sometimes they have lung and tripe. I suppliment with fish oild and other stuff. Almost forgot Pure pumpkin puree from the can I add some of that also.

There are companies out there that already prodcue ready made raw. IE MOUNTAIN DOG FOOD. I will have to get back to you on the name of others. But when I did my research I found MDF To be the best price to feed my dogs. I suggest it to all my new puppy buyers who are inexpierenced in feeding raw. I suggest before you feed raw to do as much research as possible. It is important to know what you are doing when you feed raw. Not giving the right ratio can affect your dog in a negative way.

I hope this helps.

Paul

Can puppies eat RMBs or do you need to do ground?

Puppies can eat wing tips. Or you could chop up the meaty bones into smaller pieces. If they are really young i would suggest grouding up or feeding Moutain Dog food. I ground up my meaty bones for the puppies.

Ruby managed chicken necks, and frames really well when she was little, I even gave legs too - they just took a little longer to get through (was soo cute watching her work hard for it- they're gone in two bites now lol). Just a tip, when Ruby got bigger she started to just swallow the necks whole so I stopped feeding them after that. At first I also ground the offal up and mixed it with her ground meat so she wouldn't turn her nose up at it - she was kibble fed when we got her so she wasn't used to offal. When I knew she was used to it I just started giving her chunks. But it sounds like your guy may already be raw fed so he should be used to offal and you wont need to trick him like I had to lol. I know you really, really hate fish but some fresh sardines or other small type of fish will be managable for puppy too. I have also heard of Raw feeders who will give the pup bigger RMB's, let them do their best with them (they say it's good practice and it keeps puppy busy - which keeps them out of trouble ha ha) and whatever is left they remove and feed it to their older dog(s) in their next meal, just make sure pup is still getting adequate bone from elsewhere until he can actually get through the bigger RMB. Last tip as you will be feeding two dogs raw now you may want to invest in a freezer so you can buy bulk to help save money lol (do you still have the link that Eli gave you of her supplier?) I feed 30kg a month so eventually you will be feeding around 60kg per month - thats alot of meat!

Welcome to the Hub Paul your dogs are gorgeous
