The story of the Ox tails

Sorry about the big pics, but it takes so long to resize in PB and life is too short!

So, this is the tail of the ox tails.....I bought them home from the butchers and put them by the gate as I had other shopping to bring in from the car:

"Look Rubes something nice in here..........""
"Roddy, that's naughty, you'll get told off, I'm not having anything to do with it."

So, Roddy got told off and I picked the bags up and put them on the washing machine in the kitchen while I went to fetch the other shoping bags........came back in the kitchen and found this:

So I got the shopping put away, and got their mats sorted out and Roddy got his ox tail:

Jakey, being the old man of the house had his on his bed:

And the room was divided so no quarrels could occur about whose ox tail belonged to whom:

And so one hour past and the old man of the house, fell asleep on his ox tail [bless him]

And another hour past and Madam, having done her best walked away from her ox tail, leaving just Roddy to battle on with his. He went another 45 mins before finally giving in:

So to end the story, here is what was left of the ox tails - top one was Jakey's, middle one was Rubes and Roddy's on the bottom.

I was fine till I saw the last photo..... ewwwwww..!!!!! And I just had a huge salad... not feeling so good right now....

I love the photo of the 'old guy' asleep on his tail, keeping track of it but needing a snooze!

He he he, poor old Jakey falling asleep made me laugh. LOL at Roddy trying to get to them throught the baby gate - he looks like the biggest rat-bag and Miss Ruby you're such a good girl waiting not like that Roddy

Hehe, I love the pics of them looking so serene while eating

They are really enjoying their food, or so it seems. My dog would sometimes just rip trough it.

ewww in the begining it looked kinda dirty LOL then just plain icky!!!!! but looks like they loved them

Pity, they are even better than pizzles for keeping them entertained. There are a couple of supermarkets here that sell them but they chop them up into small pieces. I bought these from an Asian butcher, they sell goat meat, chicken gizzards, lamb brains and whole ox tails - most English butchers have to order these things in and they charge more.

What dog have you got Frankie, did I miss a post somewhere? Ruby is the most prolific chewer as you can see from the remains, but the bones in ox tails are incredibly hard, there is no way she would be able to rip through it.
