To remove this ad please Register
Hi to all, i am running the Dublin women's mini marathon on the 7th of june this year. This is my first run and i am doing it for a wonderful charity called dogs in distress http://www.dogsindistress.org/
I managed to rescue my beautiful boxer Buster from Aston dog pound with the help of DID and would be really appreciate a sponsor or two. Not a problem if you can't sponsor me. Words of encouragement would also be a great help ( i'm not the greatest runner ). My sponsorship page is at

Hey thanks everyone :-) i have to run 10k, about 6 miles and really want to do it under an hour. I did 2 miles today, and nooooooooooo i did not run all that lol but its only the beginning, words of encouragement are needed most, as pounding the pavements in the middle of winter is not fun. Although buster is happy, he gets out loads more.

6 miles is really achieveable in the time you have, so don't worry! You have started in really good time and if you stick to a training schedule, you will be really ready for it - lots of luck to you. I'm sure Buster is loving being out and running with you. My other half, Graham, did a lot of running when he was younger and did the London Marathon a couple of times too. He tried running with Ruby but she just jumps up at him all the time - think Zebedee from the Magic Roundabout!
You don't have any snow then if you are still able to "pound the pavements?" We're covered in it over here!

Zebedee was my fave when i was little, love the magic roundabout!! Wow the London marathon is a massive commitment, even taking on training like that is huge. I hope i will be ready no reason not to be! And i wish we had snow here, everywhere around me is covered :-( Ran a mile and a bit yesterday with out stopping, felt like my lunges where going to explode. Buster is delighted with me and just trots nicely beside me and then i stop and i get a look as if to say whats wrong keep going, seriously i think he could go like that all day. I wish i was as fit as my dog.
