Many years ago, I got a boxer from a rescue group. She was about a year old and had been abused by her owner. We named her Maddie. At first she was very skittish and worried about being mistreated again, especially around my husband. It took a while for us to prove to her that she was safe and would never be hurt again. I'd say about two years after we got her, she was in such good spirits that no one would ever imagine she'd once been mistreated in such a cruel way.

We had Maddie for 13 years before she passed away in her sleep one night. She was a fabulous dog!!

It breaks my heart to hear of an animal being abused! People are so so so mean and evil! It makes me so mad. I think there should be a law that animal abusers can be put in jail.

I'm glad you were able to give Maddie a good home and a happy life. She must have loved you guys a lot.

Thanks, BoxerLove. Maddie was happy and she did love us...we loved her too. I wish I had a picture of her I could post, but I don't have any on the computer.

I addopted tie from a rescue about 5 years ago. Like your pup, he was very skiddish for the first while but soon warmed up to everyone.

He's still missunderstood

That's great, Magtie. It's so great to hear of you all adopting these rescued dogs. You're making me think of trying to find a rescue agency in my area and doing the same thing. If any animals need us, these do!

See i dont know how people would be able to hurt a dog. i think that they are all mentally retarded. or something is seriously wrong with them and they should be locked up for their life!
