Flashy is when the dog has white marking on the face , sometimes neck ( called a collar ) on the legs .

A Plain or classic colored boxer has only a tiny bit of white on the chest and limited to the toes . Some consider a tiny bit of white on the muzzle around the nose to be considered semi flashy .

Okay so now I'm wondering - what is Buddy? A brindle, but flashy or no? He has white markings on some toes and chest, and a white "goatee" There's more pics in my album, but here's one:

Flashy or not?

I would call buddy .A Classic / plain brindle.
As long as the white on his legs is not above his feet / ankles .

It is a crime that white boxers cannot compete in the show ring. I vote for a white boxer. Who's with me?

I think white could be added as a seperate variety , like they do with cocker spaniels ( ascob, black ,buff).

I don't know about the ring... but I love a plain dark brindle (and of course my white girls!)

I love whites so don't think I'm picking on them. Conformation is a way of showcasing breeding stock and whites are not to be bred (shouldn't be bred) so they really have no place in the conformation ring. They can participate in agility and obedience (which I think they would find to be alot more fun anyway).

I totally agree with Missi on this. By not letting them compete and only giving them "limited" registration the message is that they are "less than." The practice of euthanasia of white pups although not as common as it use to be is still being done by some breeders. As for breeding, correct me if I am wrong but I understand that if you breed 2 flashy boxers you will get the same number of white pups that you would get if you breed a white with a plain. So what is the difference?
