Well I had the tar scared out of me last night with my 2. Emmett and Wilma went at it last night for the first time. Nothing serious as far as injuries, a scaped nose on Wilma. My husband came in the back door unexpectedly and Emmett flew off the back of the couch. Wilma must have been startled or something and all of a sudden (in the dark) I see fur and boxers rolling on the floor. Teeth were snarled and growls were loud. Both had fur up on end. My husband and son separated them and we put them in different rooms until things settled down. Both were visibly upset. After all was calm, we reintroduced them and corrected anytime we saw the stare starting. We ignored both of them for the rest of the evening and all seemed fine. They both slept next to each other and both went outside together to drink out of the pool. My daughter was home all day today and said it was business as usual. Both slept on the couch most of the day. I have instructed all to ignore them as we enter the house or a room to see if it's a jealousy thing. This has never happened between the 2 of them. Tell me this was a fluke thing!!! Did we handle this correctly?

Every once in awhile, my Missy will go after Rocky, almost out of the blue. I kind of put it down to female moodiness. She always acts very remorseful for a day or 2 afterwards, and he stays out of her way until she comes to him in her normal friendly, playful way. There are also days when he just kind of stays away from her, I think he has learned to recognize her moods.

When I say every once in awhile, I mean like maybe, once every 3 months. It's only an issue when he decided to snarl back at her. Normally, he just backs off. The rest of the time, they are best buddies.

Buddy's an only child so there's no one to fight with - but sometimes he goes after his own tail. Round and round til he gets sick of it. Hopefully yours are sick of it too.

All is well! Wilma gave Em an ear cleaning this morning (ick!) and they played tug of war with the rope toy for 30 mins at 5am. I am assuming this was just a PMS fluke on Wilma's part!
