climbing stairs

We've had our boxer puppy for only a week now; she's 9 weeks old. Someone said she shouldn't climb stairs for a while. is there some truth in that? How long? How come?

Well, climbing stairs with supervision is fine, just don't let her bolt up and down :0)
We have stairs here, about 4 that go outside from the back, we keep our youngsters on a leash and walk them up and down for a couple of months until they are more coordinated. I would say at least 5 months
They are so precious to us, we wouldn't want a bad sprain, or a broken bone.

Very good idea to supervise. They sometimes don't realize how steep the stairs are or how fast they are going. She is adorable!

thanks, everyone, for your kind comments about Allie. We've had her for ten days now and I admit that I've become "boxer deranged." My poor colleagues are driven crazy by me not being able to talk about anything else.
She is growing so fast ... this morning looking across the yard I caught a glimpse of her silhouette and her shape looked like a real boxer ... a smaller version, of course, but less like a stuffed toy and more like the real deal ...
thanks for listening
