Sorry for the delayed response... had to review with my wife as she attends all the classes as I watch over the skin kids.
The number one thing is to keep the dog moving. We umbilical our dog on all walks. As we walk we change directions frequently and weave in and out of natural obstacles. We use to just "walk down the path" like everyone else.
Everytime you change directions her matringale collar tightens and cause discomfort. If she is paying attention to you she will follow you when you change directions so the collar doesnt tighten.
Really simple.. this works! Now when we walk she is by our side on leash and constantly glancing at us.
Also whenever we stop we pulled up on her leash causing her to want to sit. Consistency is the key and she now sits every time we stop without asking. Even in the presence of people, dogs, kids. cats, it doesn't matter.
Some of the other tips is to not use there name in a command and to only say it once. Every time you repeat yourself they have essentially gotten away with something. If you tell them to laydown and they don't listen then you make them laydown they soon learn that when he says "laydown" its on his time and it means laydown now.
Brad is brutally honest which is sometimes a quick reality check. If anything that is refreshing in itself... We have been contemplating getting a second dog and he told us. "that is the stupidest idea in the world" Which if you think about it is... an 18 month older boxer and 3 skin kids under 4...
