Training with Brad Pattison
To remove this ad please Register
Long storey but our dog trainer has spent some time in one of Brad Pattison's (end of my leash TV show) trainer Boot Camps, to help her better train her customers.
My wife is taking Brad's style of obedience trainign now twice a week with peaches and it is going very well. Peaches is very discipline but after 3 classes She is already improving.
Today our trainer has arranged a group lesson for 1 hour with Brad Pattison. It is only 10 dollars and should be exciting.
We have a wedding to go to today as well. We will be going to the ceromony in the early afternoon, rushing over to do this session and then rushing back tot he recption!!!!
I'll take pictures and let you know how it goes.

I have no idea who the guy is, but I would be very interested to know how the classes go and to see any pictures. I love taking Ruby to training classes - we took Roddy a few weeks ago and got kicked out. All Roddy wanted to do was play with the other dogs and not listen to anything, then because he couldn't play with the dogs, he barked and barked at them, so we got asked to leave............and not come back...........I guess I should also mention that he actually broke the link on his collar in his efforts to try and get to the other dogs - that's kind of how bad it was.

Lol - that definitely sounds like something Buddy would do!! I'm glad he's not alone.
I never heard of him either, but don't watch much tv. I'll be interested in learning more though.

I've never heard of him or the show either.... maybe it isn't played anywhere but in Canada. I too would love photos.
I had to laugh at Roddy being kicked out of class, LOL..... boxers think playtime first before work time, LOL.

I'm glad to read that Sally, makes me feel better too. Everyone in the class was just staring at me and Graham trying to hold him back and get him to sit, or down or anything - no way was he going to do a thing. I guess it was a bit like taking a child into a sweet shop and telling the child you can look at the sweets but you can't have any.

We took a bunch of pictures and it was quite intense.... as mentioned we were in between a weddign ceremony and reception. He made everyone run with the dogs up stairs and around. I you didn't repsond to him in time the entire class would do push ups.
It would be hard to explain his style of teaching in a forum so I would reccomend going to his site. He is brutually honest and not afraid to say anything. IE. he told a lady that if she can't go up and down stairs or even a fast walk why do you own a dog that requires constant stimulation?

I have to admit, I couldn't walk fast or do the steps either, so there would be no way I could join that class either. I know my boxers need lots of stimulation and exercise, so I do what I can with what joints I have left, LOL. In the future I will be needing 2 more replacements. But I think these 2 rescues are way better off than they had been before, well definitely Rex, coming from the streets and starving to death, ready to be euthanized. I nursed him back to health with the help of everyone here which I am so thankful for!
I keep them busy all day long since I am home, we entertain each other. They have a nice size yard to run all day long, sofas, my bed, their beds, and chairs, plenty of toys and I have the agility set ups out there too. When we went to agility class DH had to do all the running parts and getting down on his hands and knees to get them through the tunnels, no way could I do that! LOL.
But all is well... so don't count us all out just because we can't do things as fast as we used too. This may be my last set of Boxers which would make me very sad, but I will know my limits. I may end up with Pugs, LOL... and that will be a big change for me, but as long as I can get that unconditional love from the pug, I can give it too.
