Unhappy Boxer pup peeing problems

Hi all!! We have 2 boxers one named Lennox(2 1/2 yrs old) and Lincoln(almost 4 months old) Lennox was a breeze to housebreak but Lincoln is proving to be more difficult. He knowes he is supposed to pee outside because he will hold his pee all night and when I get up the next morning either me or one of my kids will take him out first thing. He would at first pee by the door if we didnt get there fast enough to let him out but now he will and can hold his pee till we get to the door. Okay the problems is this. He will show no signs of having to pee(like circling around or nose to the floor ect.....) and will just pee wherever he is when he is inside the house! Even if he has just been outside and pees outside he will come back in and within 10-15 min will just squat and pee wherever he is. We have a routine we follow with him like the vet said to do and we have started with crate training but nothing seems to be getting through to Lincoln. I have always been pretty good with housetraining dogs but Lincoln bless him is trying my patients to no end!! I love my furbaby and want to resolve this peeing mishap!! I just cant understand why he just pees whenever he sees fit when we take out every 30 min to every hour we are at home with him. He is only in is crate for no more then 4-5 hours a day. Does anyone have a solution here??

Hi there, welcome to the forum

I use to have a boxer named Lennox too and like your lennox, house training him was a very long...long process. We just had to be vigilant with him, out every two hours no matter what. It took months and months, but he did eventually get it.

I would also take treats outside with me to give him when he did his business.

Do you walk him when he goes out, boys won't empty their bladder all at once it will take several tries. Are you still praising him like mad when he goes outside? How much freedom does he have? When we do housebreaking we will tie the dog to an adult who can watch the dog, as they are less likely to go potty inside when within a few feet of a person. Keep in mind many dogs aren't housebroken until over 6 months, so he is really young. Also, if you think his peeing is really excessive you might want to have him checked for a UTI by the vet.

Some more info on Lincoln: I have had him since he was 3 weeks old. My husband and I had bred our male(Lennox) to a friends female boxer. We were told by a family member that this woman had been breeding boxers for 8 years and took excellent care of all her dogs. After careful consideration and talking to this woman and observing her and her dogs we agreed to the breeding. We asked to have the "pick of the litter". She agreed. Well when the pups were 3 weeks old she called and said her dogs had all gotten hookworms and I decided to go and get my pup and take him to the vet. This is a long story and really upsetting and sad. So long story short I have been pottytraining Lincoln since he was a baby. Didnt want anyone to think I am being impatient then again maybe I am lol! He is almost 4 months old(Oct.12) and I posted pics of both Lennox and Lincoln in the video and pic section.
I praise him so much my voice gets hoarse lol! And yeah I am planning to take him to the vet this week to get microchipped and I will get them to look into the uti. Thanks for all the info guys!!

He gets to roam our yard freely for as long as he likes(its fenced in) and since I have had him since he was 3 weeks old he is really attached to me. I bottlefed him and cleaned up poop and pee and spent all the restless nights with him(geez sounds like having a newborn baby lol) so he usually stays within sight of me when we are inside. But again thanks for all the helpful info and if anyone has anymore suggestions plse let me know!!

Could it be a medical problem? have you talked with your vet?

A pup taken from it's mother so early will likely have several developmental problems along the road. A mother dog helps the pups understand where to go pee and where not to, so you may need special consideration for that and he may just need a little extra time to cope.
