Default How to stop jumping and biting!?

My boxer use to have a very bad problem with biting to hard! We used the OUCH! trick for a while and it helped out some. But every now and then he tends to bite really hard! Is there any other way to stop him from playing so rough? Also, he has picked up a habit of sprinting across the yard, jumping and bouncing off of me. If I was'nt watching and did'nt expect it, he would prolly knock me down! We have tried to turn away from him and act like he is'nt there but that just makes it easier for him to bite my ankles. How can I stop all of this?

Buddy is really quick with the nip. He's only 3 months old now and I want to train him before he gets quicker and bigger. Since he's so little he can nip and run before I can catch him so what I've found to be effective is, when he gets in the nip mood (usually early morning and later evening) I clip a leash on him so if he starts to run, I can easily step on the leash and stop him. Then I close his muzzle and say No Bite!

I have found the leash to be really helpful since he now realizes he can't get away with it. Often just putting the leash on him makes him stop. I've also realized that he often is just trying to get attention so if I haven't exercised him lately I do that too. The old Exercise, Discipline, Affection (in that order) regime.

well the jumping is one i've never been totally able to control lhahaha. but the biting is something that NEEDS to be stopped.

When your pup bites/nips on him... yelp as LOUD as he can.. yelp yelp yelp like a pup does and make it high pitch.. and loud.
