This past week Georgie, who was sleeping through the night, has decided to wake me at 2 or 3 a.m. to go potty . I take her out and she pees and poops. I wouldn't mind but I get good and woke up and can't go back to sleep for an hour or so then she wakes up at about 5:30. She has been going to sleep really early about 6 or 7 p.m. but I make her go out before I go to bed.

I might mention that she sleeps in my bed (I know I am spoiling her). The reason for that is she hates the crate and I know when she gets up so she won't go potty in the house (plus I am a softy).

Poppy still gets up many nights to potty. Don't play at all during the night, just take care of business, no sweet talk!!!
It should get better soon if you don't encourage any fun. Puppy stage is almost over!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention, if this is new, she may have a UTI so be sure to watch her habits and take her in if needed.

You could also try to play around with her feeding times a bit to see if you can get into a better routine.

I agree that you might want to adjust her feeding and watering schedule. Also, our trainer suggested we not let Buddy go to bed until about an hour before we do. Otherwise he was not sleeping on our schedule. That has done the trick for us - Buddy's 5 1/2 months and goes to bed about 8 and gets up at 5 or 5:30 with us, sleeping through the night.

another thing to do is make sure she's doing her business before bed. I know sometimes you let them out and they just mess around outside without peeing or pooing

Georgie is 5 months now. I don't play or sweet talk, but I do give her a treat for going outside. Maybe I shouldn't do that at 3 am! At what age are they usually completely housebroke? Georgie does well and always goes outside she will go to my patio door when she has to go but she will also go in the house if I am not watching her.

Boo was totally housebroken at 7 months. Knowing what I know now, I think she could have done it faster, but I didn't know what I was doing.

I had this same problem with Maggie- funny thing is she would wak up the same time as your dog- around 2am or 3am. Before she was always peeing before bed. I think it has just helped that she has gotten older (she's now 1 1/2 years) and she no longer wakes up- also I think she now has a greater appreciation for sleep
